Important Policy Information

Cancellation & No-Refund Policy

Last updated: February 2026

Important: No Refunds Available

All payments made through this platform for national park permits are final and non-refundable. MEFT (Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism) does not issue refunds for permit fees under any circumstances, and as a facilitation service, we are unable to offer refunds for any fees collected on their behalf or for our service charges.

1. No Refund Policy

All permit fees collected through this platform are remitted to the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism (MEFT) of the Republic of Namibia. MEFT does not provide refunds for national park entry permits, camping fees, or vehicle fees under any circumstances. This is a government policy over which we have no control or influence.

As a digital facilitation service operated by the Grow Namibia Foundation and powered by About Africa Co., we process payments on behalf of MEFT. Since MEFT does not refund permit fees to us, we are unable to offer refunds to permit holders. The facilitation fee charged for our service is also non-refundable, as it covers the cost of processing, digital infrastructure, and customer support.

This no-refund policy applies regardless of the reason, including but not limited to: change of travel plans, weather conditions, park closures, personal emergencies, duplicate purchases, or failure to use the permit during the validity period.

2. Permit Cancellation

While refunds are not available, permits may be cancelled upon request. A cancellation will void the permit, meaning it can no longer be used for park entry. However, no monetary reimbursement will be issued for cancelled permits.

To request a cancellation, please contact our support team at [email protected] with your order reference number. Cancellations are processed within 1–2 business days and a formal credit note will be issued for your records.

Please note: Cancelling a permit does not entitle you to a refund of any fees paid.

3. Exceptional Circumstances

In extremely rare cases, where a permit was purchased by clear and demonstrable mistake and the MEFT permit has not yet been verified or used, we may consider a possible partial reimbursement entirely at our sole discretion.

If approved — and approval is not guaranteed — any reimbursement will be subject to a 30% administrative fee. This means a maximum of 70% of the total amount paid could potentially be returned. This covers the administrative costs of processing, reversal, and reconciliation.

All of the following conditions must be met:

  • 1.The purchase must have been made in clear and demonstrable error (e.g., wrong park, wrong dates due to a system misunderstanding)
  • 2.The MEFT permit must not yet have been verified or presented at any park gate
  • 3.The request must be made within 24 hours of the original purchase
  • 4.The 30% administrative fee will be deducted from any reimbursement amount

This provision exists solely as a gesture of goodwill and does not constitute a right to reimbursement. Each case is evaluated individually, and the decision of the Grow Namibia Foundation is final and not subject to appeal.

4. Why This Policy Exists

National park permit fees are government-regulated charges that fund conservation efforts, wildlife protection, and park infrastructure maintenance across Namibia. Once these fees are collected and remitted to MEFT, they enter the government revenue system and cannot be reversed or refunded.

Our facilitation fee covers the technology infrastructure, payment processing, customer support, and administrative services required to provide a convenient digital permit purchasing experience. These costs are incurred at the time of purchase and cannot be recovered.
